How I Work

My approach is about having fun in a relaxed environment capturing natural photographs that show real personality.

I like to find out what you want from your photographs and the styles you like before the photo shoot. We can have a chat on the phone or meet up - ideally at your home. It helps us get to know each other and we can talk about how you will use photography to decorate your home. If we meet I can show you samples of frames and albums and explain how much these products cost.

I normally work on location. For kids we might go to the park or have an outing to the local woods. For adults we might go to a country garden or a cool urban location. Working outdoors gives lots of opportunity for original and interesting pictures. I do work indoors too, especially with babies and very young children.

After your shoot every photograph is optimised by hand to create a collection of superb images. This takes time, but it's worth it. It means every photograph you see is a finished Martin Plant original. I never show unfinished proofs.
